About

Trevor Howell is a former journalist who transforms investigative reporting into a precision tool for civic accountability. With experience at major news organizations, he now examines government transparency with a reporter’s trained eye.

Howell’s career spans multiple newsrooms and platforms, including roles as an investigative reporter for the Toronto Star, civic affairs and education beat reporter for the Calgary Herald, co-founder and co-host of The Confluence Podcast, and staff writer for Fast Forward Weekly.

His reporting has exposed critical systemic issues—from challenging RCMP actions during the High River evacuations to revealing transparency failures at Calgary City Hall.

No longer a full-time reporter, he now strategically investigates government spending and municipal dynamics, using his journalistic skills to illuminate the often-hidden mechanisms of power and accountability and empower engaged citizens.
